If you’re facing a financial crisis, we provide access to emergency loans and grants up to $5,000 with no minimum credit score as recommended by your coach. This assistance is made available through a collaboration with our community partners.
If you would like to be considered for our program, please review our requirements:
- Minimum age: 18
- Borrower must have verifiable income confirmed through third-party documentation that demonstrates the ability to repay the loan.
- Live, Work, Worship or Go to School in Shelby County, TN
- Must not be in active bankruptcy or had a bankruptcy discharged in the past 2 years
- Must complete financial coaching by Forward Memphis
To begin our process, we recommend setting aside at least 20 minutes as well as having access to the following documents:
- Current pay stubs or a benefit statement reflecting one month of verifiable income (e.g., 2 pay stubs if you’re paid bi-weekly or semi-monthly; 4 pay stubs if you’re paid weekly; 1 pay stub or benefit statement (social security, pension) if you’re paid monthly)
- Most Recent Bank Statement to show the last 30 days of transactions
- Documentation showing your emergency financial need
Once we receive your interest form and supporting documents, a team member will contact you to schedule a virtual meeting with a financial coach.
