POSITION: Associate Money Coach

DOMICLE: Memphis, TN                                                           ACCOUNTABILITY: Operations Director

EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION:  Full-time & Part-time Positions Available                                               SALARY: $22-$24/hour

Forward Memphis is a collaboration of financial institutions, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and corporations focused on ending generational cycles of payday lenders. We provide trusted hands-on coaching, sustainable solutions and access to grants and affordable loans with no credit checks.

SUMMARY OF ROLE

You will collaborate with clients to gain a complete financial picture and develop sustainable and agreed upon solutions following Forward Memphis’ core values. You will provide assistance to clients to help execute and maintain their financial plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate Forward Memphis process, answering questions and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Gather necessary financial data from clients to gain their complete financial picture.
  • Use money coaching training methodologies to coach clients in a timely manner by phone and/or in-person.
  • Develop and present sustainable solutions for clients, communicating the need of a consistent partnership with coach and client willingness.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to clients to help execute their personalized plan.
  • Assess complexity of cases for further processing; transitioning clients to long term coaching partners.
  • Provide client progress updates and recommended next steps to Manager.
  • Understand and adhere to Forward Memphis code of conduct policy.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to Forward Memphis Core Values.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION

  • A minimum of 1-year personal finance coaching experience. (i.e., personal banking, credit counseling, financial advisor, financial planner, etc.)
  • A minimum of high school diploma/equivalent.
  • Experience with budgeting tools such as excel or Google sheets
  • Technical skills such as Microsoft Office, email, internet, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be multitask oriented with the ability to manage multiple client cases.
  • Must successfully complete training
  • Must pass a background check
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus
  • Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®) certification is a plus.

POSITION: Development Relations Specialist

SUMMARY OF ROLE

You will be responsible for building and maintaining a diverse donor/partner process which keeps donors engaged, while
making Forward Memphis attractive to new donors and partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate Forward Memphis process, answering questions and inquiries in a timely manner from prospective donors/partners.
  • Develop a strategic fundraising plan that includes corporate, foundation and partnership giving.
  • Continue ongoing partnership by creating special events and programs to maintain engagement and partnership.
  • Create and manage an on-going donor portfolio to build and foster new and long-term relationships.
  • Create and manage an on-going non-profit/faith-based portfolio to build and foster new and long-term partner fee relationships.
  • Create opportunities to increase Forward Memphis visibility among current donors, partners and faith-based organizations.
  • Create donor and partner recognition and appreciation programs to continue and/or increase giving.
  • Research tools and data analytics opportunities to determine potential donors.
  • Establish giving reporting to determine donor engagement, while establishing opportunities for giving and engagement to CEO.
  • Contribute to the Forward Memphis communication strategy (i.e. newsletter, website, impact report, etc.) by sharing content (i.e. community participation, events, new partnerships, etc.).
  • Research and determine fundraising trends and activities within the nonprofit sector.
  • Research opportunities to attend and present at various community and media events as a Forward Memphis representative.
  • Timely respond to all Forward Memphis requests to participate in community and company events.
  • Work closely with Grant Writer to determine grant opportunities.
  • Assist with social media creation by using community needs and fundraising strategy to develop appropriate content.
  • Seek and follow through with community leaders to help establish community needs which align with Forward Memphis services.
  • Assist with planning annual Forward Memphis fundraising event (s).
  • Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to Forward Memphis Core Values.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of sales, customer/client relationships, fundraising or related field
  • Technical skills such as Microsoft Office, email, internet, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Presentation skills experience
  • Must pass a background check
  • On-site and off-site events required (i.e. weekly meetings, community events, donor/partner/faith based offsite meetings and events, etc.)
